Story of MH 5410

I came across your site and I am hoping you might be able to help me.
I am searching for my biological father. His name is Thanh Khac Tran. He was born in 1948. While living in Vietnam he taught high school math. My mom is Sang Thi Nguyen. In May 1979 my parents boarded boat number MH5410 which departed from Ca Mau coast, Vietnam for Malaysia but eventually ended up docking in Indonesia where all of the passengers were placed into the Ku Ku refugee camp. In January 1980 we were moved to Galang, also in Indonesia. My mom and I left for the US at the end of May 1980. When we left, my father stayed back in Galang with the rest of his family & because he had some minor health issues, so we don’t know when / if he left Galang, but if he did we believe he would have ended up in Australia. I believe I have at least 4 siblings on my father’s side. Not sure where to even begin, but I thought I would share this in case you might have information that could be helpful for me to find him or info on what might have happened to him. Thank you so much!
